Charles Eric Ruff teaches AP Calculus, AP Computer Science, and APA Algebra 2 in the math department. He graduated from South Western University and kicked off his teaching career at Alvin High School. He has been teaching for 16 years at Alvin and enjoys teaching AP Calculus BC the most.
“I get to teach Calculus and Computer Science Classes that I like, so I really enjoy it,” Ruff said.
Ruff loves his job and loves to see kids understand what is being taught.
“I love when I see a lightbulb go off for a student,” Ruff said. “I love when they, even briefly, think the math we are doing is as cool as I always think it is.”
In his free time, he loves to watch movies with his favorite one being Rounders. Ruff is also a big Astros fan, with his favorite player of all time being Jeff Bagwell and current player being Framber Valdez.
