Head Volleyball Coach, Amanda Tacquard, joined the AHS staff this school year from Manvel High School and has worked with the volleyball players since March.
Tacquard enjoys how much pride Alvin’s community has and how it shows in every classroom and every student. Her goals for this season are to make it to multiple rounds in district and receive the AVCA academic award.
“We don’t settle, so we are always trying to get better. Because if you do settle, you’re good at one level for the rest of the year and we know what our goals are and continue to meet those goals and make them higher to achieve,” Tacquard said.
Taquard started out coaching because of her love of the game, then began coaching club volleyball once she got into college. She soon figured out, she loved teaching and coaching kids of all ages.
“Eight years old up to the Varsity level and also at the collegiate level. And it just became something, a passion that I really love and I haven’t lost sight of that,” Tacquard says.
